Over the course of two separate weekends I made some long drives.
Drove through 4 states in 2 1/2 days, including driving across the entire state of Texas (in one day). Around 24 total hours driving time. Got there just barely in time to fly back home.
Two weekends later drove help deliver a car 2 states away. That meant driving by myself the way up. We visited for a couple of hours, then found that the hotels were all full locally and had to head partway back to find an open spot. Drove home first thing. Total driving time was only 14 hours that time.
Discovered a few of things.
Driving a long way without kids in the car is a whole different experience.
Driving a long way, without staying once you get there, isn't much fun.
Driving a long way is very tiring. Took me days to recover from both of these trips.

Now that you did all that driving without much fun, you probably need a real vacation
